Self-Harming Behaviours

Online course CareCPD accredited Included with Nest Learn

Self-harm is one of the situations where a staff member's instinctive reaction can do the most damage. This course separates the myths from the reality, explains the cycle of self-harm and what drives it, and is direct about the emotions it provokes in carers and how to manage them.

It covers the first conversation, risk assessment and minimisation, and safer alternatives — and meets the Children's Homes Quality Standards under the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
