Mark and Shaz have each worked in children's homes for more than ten years. Between them they've been support workers, managers, Responsible Individuals and directors, so they've seen how training lands at every level: the new starter fitting a course around a shift, the manager chasing renewals, and the director who answers for all of it.

They've opened new homes, and they've been through a significant number of Ofsted inspections and local authority audits. They still own and run children's homes today. They know what inspectors and local authorities ask to see, because they're the ones who have to show it.

Why we built Nest Learn

Over those years we used every kind of training setup, from spreadsheets kept up to date by hand to the biggest names in care training. None of them was good enough for what we needed.

We wanted training written for children's homes, not adapted from adult care. We wanted online courses and face-to-face sessions in one record, a training matrix that kept itself up to date, a price that didn't change every time someone joined or left, and evidence we could put in front of an inspector without a paper chase. No provider offered all of that, so we built it.

A platform that keeps moving

Nest Learn brings together everything we would have wanted from a training provider: CareCPD-accredited courses written for children's homes, Learning Paths, a live Training Matrix across every home, face-to-face sessions and attendance in the same record, and one flat price per home.

We also think software should take work off managers rather than add to it. That's why Nest Learn is the first and only children's care training platform with an official ChatGPT plugin, so managers can ask about their team's training in plain English and sort it in the same conversation.

We're still building, and we're excited about what comes next. We add courses and features regularly, and we're working on Nest Portal, an operating platform for children's homes.
