Safeguarding & Child Protection
Child Sexual Exploitation
Looked-after children are disproportionately targeted for sexual abuse and exploitation, and residential staff need more than a working definition to protect them. This course distinguishes child sexual abuse from child sexual exploitation, covers the behaviours and mental health impacts that often surface first, and sets out the key sexual offences and terminology in UK law.
It draws directly on findings about exploitation within children's homes, including the Truth Project thematic report.
